Rock Bumps - 1.9", 4.25" OD - Comp Tire

When it comes to competition, it’s hard to beat a pin style tire. JConcepts introduces the Rock Bumps tires specifically designed for 1.9” Sporty Mini competition. The name suggests similarities to a popular dirt and all-terrain tire used for years in the #gojconcepts line-up; the Goose Bumps. The hefty surface area of the pins, combined with horizontal and vertical connector bars bridge together walls of grip to flex, pivot, and conform to just about any terrain.

The overall diameter of 4.25” provide ample ground clearance, and the narrow 1.5” carcass and contact patch area increases the pressure applied to each pin to provide jumbo patterns of traction. The center of the tire features a large lug to get the heavy lifting started; the relief edges provide clearance to the next closest pins. Angular traction bars on the edges start the sidewall transition to an open shield feature to keep surface area edges present in the design. 

The narrow tire carcass, with continuous contour, has major flex characteristics providing even greater conformity to rocks, holes, bumps, and just about anything in its path. Elaborate radial ribs and an array of additional bars on the sidewall of the tire aid in anti-slip, and outside carcass thickening. Boss - 1.9", 4.25" OD - Comp Tire

A new design from the JConcepts laboratory is the Boss tire available in sticky green compound. The narrow 1.38” carcass platform, 4.25” overall diameter designed especially for 1.9” wheels make this a legitimate threat in the Sporty Mini class. The tread layout is unique featuring a base pallet with overlaying bar tread to provide the flexibility necessary to grab, hold, and conquer a variety of terrain. JConcepts has inspired a new style featuring H and + versioned tread instances bringing hefty and flexy together. 

A continuous carcass with minimal lettering and logo height looks strong while allowing competition friendly slide and grind. The pins themselves have radius built in giving an arch to the tread in the radial orientation and a bridge structure in the horizontal direction. The newly designed block and bar layout provides forward flex grip with sideload stability across the tread. The edges of the pins are held back from the sidewall area to minimize overhang. Exposed sidewall rubber material helps in dry conditions where the sticky compound can assist without hinderance.

FYR Crawler Tire - 1.9" | 4.25" OD | 1.5" Width

The task was simple, creating one of the most detailed crawling tires of all-time without any deep pocketing while applying it to a new competition width. The result, the FYR “Fire” tire has all the latest elements and includes some industry first development such as the 1.5” width carcass. The new tire starts with a traditional 1.9 bead mounting diameter to satisfy the industry standard and the demands of the most popular wheel size in the crawler segment. The carcass has a continuous flow of wall thickness and pillow-top feel against the insert.

The tread itself is where magic happens on this 4.25 OD tire. The individual arrangements of tread plots rise in a series of directional value providing climbing support from a host of different angles. Surface recess areas are very shallow but give just enough flexibility to the top to conform to terrain. Very faint radial ribs are in 3 key areas across the carcass in very important traction zones. The pie shaped recessed spaces on the tread are loaded with detail even extending to the sidewall lugging. 

Turning attention to the sidewall, it’s glorious. Tread plots which resemble knives, boots, and other subliminal items on the sidewall reign supreme. A new level of detail resides in the sidewall lugging where all the surfaces have small cavities in a host of different patterns and arrangements. Very light background texture rests behind the sidewall in a hidden tattoo like fashion. JConcepts lettering is embossed showing brand authority on the sidewall along with the part number, dimensions, and tire naming.
